IMC S.A. Winkowski Group acquired by QuadWinkowskiQuadWinkowski, one of the largest printers in Europe, and IMC S.A. Winkowski Group, a manufacturer of packaging, stands, displays and advertising materials, signed an agreement under which QuadWinkowski has acquired all the shares of IMC. The acquisition will enhance QuadWinkowski’s product and service offering to clients, and strengthen its leading position in the European printing market. IMC, which had 2009 sales of approximately 16 million EUR (63 million PLN), will retain its name while becoming part of U.S.-based Quad/Graphics, the parent company of QuadWinkowski. “Together, QuadWinkowski and IMC will offer our clients an unbeatable combination of solutions to help them succeed in a very competitive marketplace,” said Tom Frankowski, President of QuadWinkowski, which is headquartered in Wyszków, Poland. “We are making investments in state-of-the-art digital presses and other leading technology and automation that will advance capabilities, quality and turnaround time, and improve overall service. In this way, we’ll further enhance our product offering and value to clients all over Europe.” “Given the very competitive landscape in which our clients operate, it’s more important than ever that we provide the greatest possible flexibility in product offering and delivery schedules,” added Piotr Winkowski, Marketing Director for IMC. “Together, QuadWinkowski and IMC will be able offer more of what our clients need to be successful, including creative packaging and display options that increase revenue.” IMC will maintain its current production facility in Piła, in northwestern Poland, for manufacturing packaging. In addition, the company will open a second location in Radzymin, near Warsaw, exclusively dedicated to producing advertising materials and other types of commercial work. The facility, which will be operational by the end of 2010, will house advanced print-production equipment, including high-speed sheetfed and digital presses, and laser die-cutting and laminating machines. “We will have an incredible amount of manufacturing horsepower and scheduling flexibility in one convenient location with room to grow over time,” Mr. Frankowski said. “We will have the ability to print a wide variety of product sizes, formats and run lengths, and with our redundancy of equipment, we will be able to meet tight turnaround times. We are well positioned to meet any client need.” |
